How do I change the XMIND language interface to English from another language or ad vice versa?
You can change the XMIND language interface to English by following the
steps below:
- Windows/Linux: Context Menu of XMIND icon > Properties >
Shortcut > Add " -NL en_US" in the target field after '...xmind.exe"'.
- Mac OS X: Finder > Application > XMIND > Open Context Menu >
Show Package Contents > Contents > Replace the "Info.plist" with new "Info.plist".
You can change the XMIND language interface to German by following the
steps below:
- Windows/Linux: Context Menu of XMIND icon > Properties >
Shortcut > Add " -NL de" in the target field after '...xmind.exe"'.
- Mac OS X: Finder > Application > XMIND > Open Context Menu >
Show Package Contents > Contents > Open "Info.plist" > Replace line 76 with line 78.
> Replace "en_US" with "de"
You can change the language of XMIND into Simplified Chinese by the
following steps:
- Windows/Linux: Context Menu of XMIND icon > Properties >
Shortcut > Add " -NL zh_CN" in the target field after '...xmind.exe"'.

How do I enhance the speed of XMIND?
You can speed up the performance of your XMIND software by simply blocking animation and
spell-checking capabilities in XMIND. To make those changes, follow these steps:
- Choose Window > Preferences > Appearance, uncheck the "Enable
animation" box, and press OK.
- Choose Window > Preferences > Spelling, uncheck the "Enable
spell checking" box, and press OK.

Can I build more than one map in a single workbook?
Yes, you can build multiple maps within one workbook. When you save a
workbook, all maps will be saved as a single file for easy distribution.

How do I build relationships among maps within a workbook?
Users can build topical relationships among maps within a workbook by selecting one topic > click “Edit” in the menu > select “Copy
and Associated to...” > select which map you want to associate to from
the POP window.

How do I add my own images to XMIND as markers?
You can add your own images to XMIND as markers using one of the following
two paths:
- C:\Program Files\XMIND 2008\markers\brainy
- Window > Preferences > Markers, you add your own
marker group and markers in the XMIND directly.

How do I open my most recent maps?
Upon opening XMIND, you can find the most recently used files when
clicking “File” in the menu.

Pressing “Shift” when you move the floating topics, and place them anywhere
on the map without limitations.

How do I activate XMIND software?
XMIND can be properly activated using the following steps:
Install and open XMIND > Enter your personal
information and SN in the activation window > Click “Activate” Button >
When seeing the activation code, click “Finish the Final Step...” Now
you finish the all steps.

What do I do if I lose my Serial Number?
Try to retrieve the email with the Subject--”SN of XMIND”. If you cannot
find the email, you can contact us via email,telephone or skype. You'll need
to provide us with your name, email, invoice no., and the date you bought XMIND.

Can I use one SN on two different computers?
As stated in our license agreement, you can use one SN on two your own computers only.

Can I use one SN on different operation systems?
XMIND is a cross-plateform software solution, and its serial numbers (SN) are platform-independent.
So, serial number will work no matter what OS you are using.

Can I install XMIND on my Mobile Disk or U-DISK?
You can download XMIND portable version onto your Mobile
Disk or U-DISK, and activate it online. This will allow you to take and use XMIND
anywhere you go!

Why didn't my image display when I dragged it into XMIND from the Web?
Sometimes, XMIND needs time to read the images. If the images are
big, it will need more time.

I have activated XMIND, but can't use some features(
2D-Chart, Audio Notes, Fishbone etc.).
Check to see which XMIND Edition you are running. There are some
differences between the features included in XMIND2008 Standard, and

Can I see the my maps after my "tryout" period has ended?
In order to continue to make your maps accessible, serial numbers must be
purchased before your "tryout" period ends. Once the software has been activated
with a serial number, your information is stored forever.
However, if you have an urgent need to retrieve a map, follow these steps:
- Open the version of XMIND installed on your computer
- Change the extension of ".xmap" to ".zip"
